Neue Lehrveranstaltung: Structural Control and Health Monitoring (SCHM)

18/10/2016

Dear Students,

starting from WS16/17 LBB is going to offer the optional course Structural Control and Health Monitoring (SCHM) for graduate civil engineering students with the specifications “Constructive Building Engineering” and “Constructive Civil Engineering”.

The lecture will consist both theoretical and practical fundamentals of the innovative vibration mitigation methods (e.g. damping devices) as well as application of monitoring systems and measurement techniques in civil engineering. Such kind of methods are being applied on high-rise buildings, wind turbines and bridges, which are threatened by dynamic loading. Famous examples are Taipei 101 Skyscraper in Taipei and Millennium Bridge in London.

For further information about this new course please check Campus and I am gladly at your disposal.

Best Regards

O. Altay
